A New Model of the Divine Dark - Jon Eden Khan

This article aims to highlight what feels like a significant new insight that adds something significant to our field’s work around the divine dark, and that is one of the core pieces of Avatara’s Level 2b retreat, Crux Ecstasis, which has it bring something radically new.

This is to do with the nature of the dark, and the different kinds of development that can happen for those on the path with it.

In the Mercury Transmissions we’ve received teachings referring to the dark of monadic spirit and dark matter, but at a certain point I started to sense that the nature of the relationship between these was never super clear.

Sometimes dark matter is spoken of simply as the dark of spirit in matter. Sometimes they are described as if they are the same. Sometimes in ways that seem different.

And then there’s all the other aspects related to them that haven’t really been clarified in terms of where they fit in – black dragon energy, the dark halo of the monadic body, etc. My observation is that several people in our field have found how all these relate to each other quite confusing too.

The insight that landed for me is that the dark of spirit and dark matter are two poles of the non-dual Life-force that is beyond and the essence of spirit, soul, and matter.

When that divine Life-force rises to create a you or me, it first polarises into one pole that is dark spirit and another that is dark matter.

Dark spirit is qualified by the energy of divine will, power, and purpose, and it resides as the core transmission of identity at every level of our being.

Dark matter is qualified by the energy of divine abundance, nourishment, grace, intelligence, and creative fertility, and is the basis of the body at every level of our being.

Between these two, the soul ignites into being, its body an emanation of dark matter and its core identity an emanation of dark spirit.

When we learn to open to our core of dark spirit, we can then learn to open through it to being 'seen through' by the Great Dark Father who resides at the core of the Earth – Sanat Kumara, who is also Osiris.

When we lean to open to the essence of our body in dark matter, it lets us fall through that field into being held by the Great Dark Mother who pervades the whole body of the Earth – The Mother of the World, Gaia, Isis.

The core insight here is that dark spirit and dark matter are twin expressions of one non-dual reality – the Life-force that is the breath of the Absolute.

I now see the seeds of the dark at the crown, heart, and base, for instance, as well as the black dragon energy all as expressions of dark spirit in the body-mind. Each of these carries an incredible transmission of will, power, and purpose.

Working with dark matter at the levels of our different bodies - dense and subtle - is a whole new area of our work, and my sense is that this is where we access the dark mysteries of deep nourishment, deep safety, deep reset from the adrenaline-fuelled terror of our isolated lives, and the regeneration of the matter of our bodies.

Beyond the concepts, putting this distinction into practice, as we do in Crux Ecstasis, opens up incredibly powerful avenues for the work.

In Crux Ecstasis, these are the greater mysteries of the dark we enter after spending time with the lesser mysteries of the soul.

The lesser mysteries are those of the son and daughter – the masculine and feminine aspects of the soul, which carry their own profound initiations.

The greater mysteries are where the soul can commune with its original parents.

This allows the soul to remember dark spirit and the gaze of the Dark Father that carries his transmission of the divine will, power, and purpose at the heart of all creation at its core.

And it allows the soul to realise the one dark field of matter that clothes it and to open to the Dark Mother that lives through the field of all matter.

This strips the soul bare and allows it to remember the one divine Life it is an expression of.
