Initiates of the 7th Ray Age - Jon Eden Khan
DK tells us at various points that the requirements for initiation increase over time. He is clear that more and more is asked of initiates as collective evolution unfolds. At one point, he says that a third-degree initiate today is significantly more evolved than a third-degree initiate was in Atlantean times.
Today, as we transition from the sixth-ray age to the seventh, the requirements for initiation are undergoing another significant transformation.
Taking initiation requires mastery, we are told, of at least two-thirds (66%) of one of our bodies by a higher energy.
For instance, the first initiation involves mastery of at least two-thirds of the physical body life by bringing it into alignment with the soul. The second involves mastery of at least two-thirds of the emotional body as the disciple draws on the love of the soul. The third involves mastery of at least two-thirds of the mental body as the disciple draws on the will of the soul, as it also opens to the will of the monad.
But what exactly does mastery mean?
My sense is that this is what is changing as we move from the sixth-ray age to the seventh, and that this change is producing a fundamentally different kind of initiate.
Mastery in the sixth-ray age involved transcendence and control.
At the first initiation, the physical body was transcended and controlled in order to align physical plane life with the soul. At the second, the emotional body was transcended and controlled in order to shift the focus from personal desire to the transpersonal love of the soul. At the third, the mental body was transcended and controlled in order to move beyond mental separatism and into the will of the soul, while also opening to the monadic One.
This kind of mastery was ultimately in service to an ascent.
Mastery in the seventh-ray age looks very different.
Instead of transcending and controlling the personality bodies, there is now a descent of the soul into and through them. The emphasis on transcendence and control characteristic of the sixth-ray age gives way to descent, embrace, and the expression of the higher levels through each body.
At the first initiation, this might involve the disciple bringing the soul's energy down into the body through deep embodiment, somatic practice, dietary attunement, erotic activation, and perhaps medicine work.
At the second, it might involve the disciple clearing the way for the love of the soul through psychotherapy, trauma work, shadow work, conscious communication, relationship as a path, purpose work, group work, and service.
At the third, it might involve the disciple developing themselves as a vehicle for soul and monadic will through integral intellectual development and mature, soul-centred leadership that is emotionally attuned, erotically integrated, and somatically embodied.
This path of descent continues to unfold through the higher initiations.
Consider the vastly different kind of initiate this produces compared with the sixth-ray age. Initiates of the sixth-ray age might have been established in the higher levels of their being. Yet often, they were definitely not also deeply somatically attuned, erotically integrated, and emotionally intelligent, as well as intellectually developed - though, of course, there were exceptions.
Initiates of the seventh-ray age will increasingly be all of these, providing the soul and monad with entirely different material sheaths through which to descend and express themselves.
In a sense, the deepest level of this descent is dark matter.
While initiates of the sixth-ray age sacrificed the body and matter as they ascended through the light of soul and radical awakening on the buddhic plane into the darkness of spirit, initiates of the seventh-ray age will increasingly unfold their expression through matter all the way into the darkness of matter. There, they will draw upon its life force to restore their embodiment - both dense and energetic - to its essential purity.
For initiates of the sixth-ray age, the fourth initiation often involved physical death because the body simply could not withstand the voltage of monadic life that then started to pour through them. Often, some form of sickness arose through the friction between the higher energies and the matter of the body.
My sense is that this deep work of descent, together with work involving dark matter, will increasingly allow initiates over the next two millennia to pass through the higher initiations while remaining in the physical body.
